Lilesville - Mr. James Kendall, 80, died Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at his home.
Funeral services will be 4:00pm Sunday, September 30, 2012 at Parsons Grove Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Mr. James 'Jim' Harris Kendall, 80, departed this life on Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at his home.
He was born March 27, 1932 in Wadesboro, NC a son of the late Robert and Carrie Kendall. He attended Anson County Public Schools and was drafted into the United States Army and served his country during the Korean War receiving an honorable discharge. Jim retired from Wansona in Wadesboro after 27 years of service.
Jim was a faithful member of Flat Rock Missionary Baptist Church in Wadesboro until declining health. He never met a stranger and will be missed by all who loved and knew him.
Surviving are his wife, Netter Tyson Kendall of the home; his children, Melvin Tyson, Carolyn Tyson Irving and James Tyson; and a special daughter-in-law, Rena Tyson; 8 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are his sisters, Carrie Kendall and Julia Kendall; his brothers, Robert Kendall, Joe Kendall, Timothy (Willie) Kendall, and Harvey 'Sonny' Kendall; his sisters-in-law, Pauline Tyson, Elizabeth Merritt, Minnie (Robert) Montgomery, Georgianna Allen and Mary Ricks; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother and sister, Louis Kendall and Alice Everette.
