WADESBORO - Mr. James Andrew Ratliff, 78, died Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at Ambassador Health and Rehab in Wadesboro. Funeral services will be 2:00PM Friday, June 14, 2013 at Leavitt Funeral Home with Rev. Ralph Tice officiating. Interment will follow in Anson Memorial Park. The family will greet friends Thursday, June 13, 2013 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at Leavitt Funeral Home and other times at the home. Andrew was born May 1, 1935 in Anson County, NC a son of the late James Monroe Ratliff and Clara Adams Ratliff. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and was retired from Coffing Hoists Company. Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Esta Morris Ratliff of the home; a son, Brian (Pam) Ratliff of Wadesboro; a daughter, Kim (Tony) Massey of Wadesboro; and four grandchildren, Brandon Ratliff, Luke Ratliff, Noah Ratliff and Nick Johnson all of Wadesboro. Also surviving are three brothers and two sisters, Gayland (Peggy) Ratliff of High Point, Delton (Judy) Ratliff of Iron Station, Dallas (Darlene) Ratliff of Lilesville, Ernestine (Lynn) Brooks of Huntersville and Avis Crowley of McFarlan. In Addition to his parents, Andrew was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters, Aaron Ratliff, Esther Preslar and Edna Rogers. The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at Ambassador Health and Rehab. Memorials may be made to Autism Speaks, 1060 State Rd., 2nd Floor, Princeton, NJ 08540.
