James Calvin Rocky Mr. Smith

MORVEN - Mr. James Calvin 'Rocky' Smith, 57, died Friday, October 17, 2014 at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte. There will be a gathering of family and friends in celebration of his life from1:00pm until 5:00pm Sunday, October 19, 2014 at the home of his sister, 186 Farm Road in Wadesboro. Rocky was born July 30, 1957 in Richmond County, NC a son of the late Calvin Smith, Jr. and the late Annie Ruth Black Smith. He had worked in commercial construction for a number of years. Surviving are his daughters, Ann Marie Smith of North Myrtle Beach, SC, Teesha Smith of Wadesboro, NC and Erica Smith of Longs, SC; his grandchildren, Casper, Jace, Chip, Josalyn, C.J., Sophie, Nayomi and one on the way, Ava, due in December; his sisters and brothers, Shirley (Wayne) Marsh and Thomas Smith both of Chesterfield, SC, Dale Smith of Wallace, SC, Bill (Kim) Smith of Nakina, NC, Martha 'Cookie' Goodwin of Wadesboro, NC and Teesha 'Puddin' Smith of Morven, NC and his beloved nieces and nephews and their families. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, James Roland Smith and his sister, Mary Ellen Smith. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
