Janet Glenn Hall Pratt

MORVEN - Mrs. Janet Glenn Hall Pratt, 84, died Thursday, January 12, 2017 at Novant Health Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte. Funeral services will be 2:00pm Sunday, January 15, 2017 at First Baptist Church, Mt. Gilead. Interment will follow in Morven Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 5:00pm until 7:00pm Saturday, January 14, 2017 at Leavitt Funeral Home, Wadesboro. Janet was born August 29, 1932 in Ohio and was a daughter of the late Norwood Buck Hall and the late Pauline Young Hall. She was a graduate of both Wingate College and Carson Newman University with a degree in early childhood education. Most of her teaching career was spent in Randleman, NC. She and her late husband, Rev. Bobby G. Pratt were missionaries to China, teaching English there as a second language and also home missionaries to Vermont. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Mt. Gilead and attended Morven Presbyterian Church. Surviving are her daughters, Karen Guidry of Morven and Kimberly Hight of Southport; her grandchildren, Jennifer Underwood and Matt Underwood both of Charlotte, Kaitlin Underwood of Wingate, Teresa Bowman and Joseph Bowman both of Oxford; and her brother and sister, Buck Hall and wife, Eleanor and Charlotte Hall Fowler both of Camden, SC and her sister-in-law, Cherrie Pratt Hanna of Ocean Isle Beach. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, 133 South Main St., Mt. Gilead, NC 27306 or to Morven Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 274, Morven, NC 28119.
