LILESVILLE - Mrs. Janie Kate Maxwell Carter, 97, died Thursday, January 12, 2017 at Carolinas Medical Center Union in Monroe. Funeral services will be 2:00pm Saturday, January 14, 2017 at Forestville United Methodist Church with Rev. Jody Campbell officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service in the church fellowship hall. Janie Kate was born December 21, 1919 in Anson County, NC and was a daughter of the late John P. Maxwell and the late Nancy Griggs Maxwell. She was a homemaker and also worked as bookkeeper for her father, J.P. Maxwell and was a member of Forestville United Methodist Church. Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Rodney Russell of Charlotte and her grandsons, Keith Russell and Brett Russell both of Mint Hill.
