Jason Thomas Mr. Martin

Polkton - Mr. Jason Thomas Martin, 67, died Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at his home. There will be a memorial service at 4:00pm Sunday, August 28, 2016 in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Jason was born April 22, 1949 in Anson County, NC a son of the late Joe Martin and the late Julia Lowery Martin and was the youngest of five children. He graduated from Anson High School in 1967 and served in the United State Marines from 1967 until 1971, which included a tour of duty in Vietnam. He worked for 38 years with Duff Norton, which later became Coffing Hoist and now Columbus McKinnon in Wadesboro. Surviving are his wife, Louise Phillips Martin of the home; his son and daughter-in-law, Tommy and Heather Martin; his grandchildren, Kinsey and Brody; and his brother and sisters, Joe R. Martin of Harrisburg, Rose Harrell of Rock Hill, SC and Judy Wait of Taylors, SC. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Anne Grant. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105. The arrangements are in care of Leavitt Funeral Home.
