WADESBORO – On Tuesday, January 25, 2022, Mrs. Jean Jordan Burris, 84, passed away peacefully at the home of her son and daughter-in-law in Wadesboro.
Services will be 2:00pm Monday, January 31, 2022, by the graveside in Mt. Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Randy Storz officiating.
Due to the rise is COVID cases, there will be no visitation, however, anyone who wishes, may pay their respects and sign a guest register at Leavitt Funeral Home on Monday, January 31, 2022, from 9:00am until 11:30am.
Face coverings or masks are required for attendance at the service and at the funeral home.
Jean was born November 8, 1937, in Anson County, NC and was a daughter of the late Cleveland L. Jordan and the late Lillie Mae Dean Jordan. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and superb homemaker.
A life-long member of Mt. Beulah Baptist Church, she served as Sunday school teacher in the preschool department for more than 30 years and was active in other areas of church service, as well. Jean lived a life of Christian service and humbleness before all who knew her.
Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Ronnie Burris (Terri) and Kenneth Burris (Alana) both of Wadesboro; her grandchildren, Keelie Hill (Robbie) of Wadesboro, Ryan Burris (Kari) of Mebane, Daniel Burris (Labrisha) and Brandon Burris both of Lumberton and Lilly Burris of Wadesboro; her great-grandchildren, Chloe, Noah, Zoey, Jonah, Micah, Kalib, Kaylie, Koby, Kinsley, Aaron, April, Abbey, Allie, Jimmy, Isaiah, and Daniel; 6 great-great-grandchildren; her brother and sisters, Cleveland Jordan, Jr., Peggy Long (John) and Josephine Dickens all of Wadesboro and her sister-in-law, Eunice Jordan of Wadesboro.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Richard Burris and her brothers and sisters, Woodrow Jordan, Pete Jordan, Pauline Pegram, Louise Paul, Cleva Mae Hooks, Sarah Dickens, Mary Frances Diggs and Marguerite Treadaway.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mt. Beulah Baptist Church, 3373 Country Club Rd., Wadesboro, NC 28170.
