Peachland - Mrs. Jean Jarman Tyson, 56, died Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at the Hospice House of Union County.
Funeral services will be 11:00AM Saturday, November 17 at Hopewell United Methodist Church in Peachland, NC with Rev. Paul McClure and Rev. Steve Jirgal officiating. Interment will follow at Anson Memorial Park in Wadesboro. The family will greet friends from 6:00 to 8:00PM Friday at Leavitt Funeral Home.
Jean was born June 26, 1956 in Anson County, the only child of Harold and Edna Dutton Jarman. She was a graduate of Southview Academy and Anson Community College. Early in her career, she worked for Security Bank & Trust while later, she and her husband, Ken, were partners in operating Jarman's Food Mart in Wadesboro, NC. For the last twenty years, she was an employee for the N.C. Dept. of Corrections in Polkton, NC.
Jean is survived by her husband, Ken of the home; her mother, Edna Jarman of Wadesboro; two sons, Micah Tyson (Paige) and Morgan Tyson (Maggie) both of Monroe; and four granddaughters whom she lovingly adored, Makenna, Kaela, Amelia and Lucy. She was preceded in death by her father, Harold in 2010.
All who knew and loved Jean will always remember the genuine warmth and beauty of her smile, her quick and wonderful laughter and the depth of her faith. She was deeply devoted to her family and treasured the love and friendship of all who knew her. Jean will be truly missed and remembered by everyone.
