Jeanette McLendon Mrs. Dunlap

Peachland - Mrs. Jeanette McLendon Dunlap, 78, was born in Anson County, NC on January 19, 1934 to the late Howard and Glennie Reid McLendon. Jeanette was educated in the Anson County School System and graduated from East Polkton High School in 1955. Jeanette gave her life to Christ at an early age. She was a member of New Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Peachland, NC where she was a faithful member until her health failed. Jeanette was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Dunlap. On Sunday, November 4, 2012 our Father saw a need to call her home. Her work here was done. Jeanette was known to some as 'Big Mama' and to others 'Mama Jeanette'. She was one of the truly great pioneers of this community. If you were wrong or doing wrong she would correct you. She always showed love and kindness during her journey here on earth. Jeanette leaves to cherish her loving memories one sister, Betty Crowder of Monroe, NC. She raised 13 of her nieces and nephews, Sylvester, Willie, Liz, Hazel, Musa, Ann Fred, Karen, Rose, Todd, Amenia, Latiffa and Kareem. She also leaves a host of cousins and friends Funeral services will be 12:00pm Friday, November 9, 2012 at New Zion Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Williams Cemetery, Polkton.
