WADESBORO – On Saturday, January 11, 2025, Mrs. Jeanette Cutchens Huneycutt, 82, passed away peacefully with her family at her bedside in Atrium Health Union in Monroe.
Funeral services will be 3:00 PM, Wednesday, January 15, 2025, in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home with Rev. Randy Storz officiating. Interment will follow in Eastview Cemetery in Wadesboro.
The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Wednesday.
Jeanette was born November 8, 1942, in Cairo, GA and was a daughter of the late Millard Vernon Cutchens and the late Ina Lavelle Collins Cutchens. She was a graduate of Cairo High School and attended Tallahassee Technical College.
She worked for 30 years with Parsons Bias Drug Store in Wadesboro and for 14 years at Walmart in Wadesboro.
Jeanette dearly loved her family, especially her granddaughters and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed watching Hallmark movies, sweet tea, milkshakes, reading, going to dances, traveling on cruises and smoking a cigarette, although her family didn’t want her to.
Those who are left to cherish her memory are her children, Teddy Huneycutt (Tonya) of Peachland and Tamara Teal (Jamie Diggs) of Wadesboro; her granddaughters, Amber Sheppard (Jesse) of Lilesville, Leah Spears (Evan) and Ashley Teal both of Wadesboro, Brooke Helms (Quinton) of Marshville and Hailee Huneycutt (fiancé’ Cam Baucom) of Peachland; her great-grandchildren, Sawyer, Lainey and Tate Sheppard; her brothers, Larry Cutchens of Hinesville, GA and Craig Cutchens and Waymen Cutchens both of Cairo, GA; her brothers-in-law, George Huneycutt (Lib) of Longs, SC, Leonard Huneycutt of Polkton and Ben Huneycutt (Mihn) of Mint Hill and her nieces and nephews and their families.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Lee Huneycutt and by her brothers, Earl Cutchens, and Carl Cutchens.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mt. Beulah Baptist Church, 3373 Country Club Rd., Wadesboro, NC 28170 or to Eastview Cemetery Trust, P.O. Box 274, Wadesboro, NC 28170.
