WADESBORO - Mr. Jerry Richard 'Rick' Cassidy, 60, died Sunday, October 11, 2015 at Carolinas Medical Center Union in Monroe. Funeral services will be 3:00pm Thursday, October 15, 2015 at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Barry Gerald officiating. Interment will follow in Seago Cemetery. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday. Rick was born February 28, 1955 in Anson County, NC a son of the late Mack and Margie Johnson Cassidy. He was employed with Burlington Industries in Rockingham and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He was very active in his Native American Ancestry and enjoyed participating in tribal functions and Pow Wows. Surviving are his wife, Janice Brown Cassidy of the home; his daughters, Misty Ann Cassidy of Ansonville and Megan Brooke Cassidy of Wadesboro; his grandchildren, Shianne Maree Cassidy, Shane Michael Cassidy, Bethany Jane Winfree and James Richard Winfree; his brothers and sisters, Frankie Cassidy of Ellerbe, Randy Cassidy of Rockingham, Irene McKenzie of Polkton and Maxine Smith of Missouri. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Donnie and Jimmy Cassidy. The arrangements are in care of Leavitt Funeral Home.
