Jerry Alton Mr. Goodwin

WADESBORO - Mr. Jerry Alton Goodwin, 65, died Saturday, October 3, 2015 at his home. Funeral services will be 2:00pm Tuesday, October 6, 2015 in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Knotts officiating. Interment will follow in Anson Memorial Park. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Tuesday and other times at the home. Jerry was born April 17, 1950 in Anson County, NC a son of Azile Berry Goodwin and the late Robert Walter Goodwin. He had worked as a pipe fitter and was a veteran of the United States Air Force, having served during the Vietnam War. Surviving are his wife of 34 years, Phyllis Turner Goodwin of the home; his sons, Scott Goodwin and Paul Goodwin both of Wadesboro; his mother, Azile Goodwin of Wadesboro; his sister, Susan (Larry) Bullard of Wadesboro; his brother, Russell (Debbie) Goodwin of Polkton; and his sister-in-law, Sandra (Woody) Pleiscott of Wadesboro. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by brothers, Robbie and Allan Goodwin. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Anson County Veteran's Association, Memorial Park Project, % Kenneth Lee, 155 McRae Ave., Wadesboro, NC 28170.
