WADESBORO - Mr. Jerry Bennett Kelly, Sr., 71, died Sunday, March 9, 2014 at his home.
Funeral services will be 5:00pm Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Barry Gerald officiating. Interment will follow in Eastview Cemetery.
The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday and other times at the home.
Jerry was born March 23, 1942 in Anson County, NC a son of the late Cary Forest Kelly and the late Sarah Jordan Kelly Dickens. He was preceded in death by a brother, Glenn Dickens.
He had worked for many years with Blalock Tire and Appliance Store and later owned and operated Jerry Kelly Appliance Repair and was part owner of Barber and Kelly Garage. He and his wife were foster parents in Anson County and he was a member of Wadesboro Fire Department for 19 years and a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Janice of the home; his children, Benny (Andrea) Kelly of Ansonville, Judy Morris, Gina Kelly and Nate Cloninger all of Wadesboro and Tina (Jasper Lee, Jr.) Hildreth of Lilesville; his grandchildren, Jonathon (Allison) Kelly and Weston (Scarlet) Kelly both of Ansonville, Matt and Jason Morris both of Wadesboro and J. Lee Hildreth, III of Lilesville; his great-grandchildren, Austin, Emma and Ayden Kelly.
Also surviving are his brothers and sisters, Johnny Dickens of Laurinburg, Jimmy Dickens of Beaumont, TX, Ray Dickens and Brenda Townsend both of Raeford and Carolyn Stephens of Sanford.
