McFarlan-Mrs. Jessie Tucker Carter,85 , died Saturday, May 25, 2013 at Jesse Helms Nursing Center in Monroe, North Carolina. Graveside services will be 2:00pm Monday, May 27, 2013 at Anson Memorial Park. The family will greet friends following the service. Jessie was born December 2, 1927 in Anson County, N C, the daughter of the late JC and Annie Mae Tucker. She was preceded in death by her husband, John T. Carter and her great-grandson Gavin Luke Wrenn. In addition to her parents, Jessie was also preceded in death by her brothers, JD Tucker, Bradley Tucker and Kenneth Tucker, and her sisters, Lucille Phillips, Nathalie Rivers, Christine Flake and Margaret Tarlton. She was a graduate of Deep Creek High School and a long- time member of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church, McFarlan, NC. She is survived by her son, John T. Carter, Jr. and wife Faye and her daughter Cynthia C. Parrish and her husband Rick, her grandchildren, Kendra F. Billingsley, John T. 'Trey' Carter, III and wife, Liza, Karianne Carter, Rachel Parrish Wrenn and her husband Heath. She is also survived by five great -grandchildren, , Ashton Carter Billingsley, Caroline Elizabeth Carter, Ethan Gabriel Wrenn, Jacob Tyler Wrenn, and David Gaige Wrenn. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Jesse Helms Nursing and Meadowview Terrace Assisted Living for their exemplary care shown to Jessie while she was a resident in their facility.
