WADESBORO - Mr. Jimmy Martin Hough, 79, died Sunday, February 24, 2013 at his home.
Memorial service will be 5:00pm Wednesday, February 27, 2013 in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home with Rev. Chis Jackson officiating.
The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at the home.
Jimmie was born September 17, 1933 in Anson County, NC a son of the late Preston Linwood Hough and Elvira McCormick Hough. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, William Linwood Hough.
He had worked in the whole sale grocery business for many years, having worked for both the Allen Bennett Company and M.H. McLean. Prior to his retirement, he owned and operated Jimmy's Superette in Cason's Old Field for more than 25 years. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, having served during the Korean Conflict.
Surviving are his wife, Jeanette Morris Hough of the home; his children, David Hough of Salt Lake City, UT, Carolyn Hough of Maryland, Ricky (April) Hough of Polkton and Tammy (Mike)Hough Johnson of Wadesboro; his grandchildren, Magan (Kyle Blakely)Honeycutt, Amber Honeycutt, Ricky Hough, Jr. and Steven Johnson and his great-grandchildren, Hailey Biles, Kylee Blakely, Jamarion Hough, Makayla and Alissa Johnson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Anson Community Hospice, 1119 N US HWY 1, Rockingham, NC 28379.
