Jo Elaine Ms. Borden

WADESBORO - Ms. Jo Elaine Borden, 77, was called home to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at Anson Health and Rehab in Wadesoro. She was born in Polkton, NC July 1, 1939 , the daughter of George L. Borden and the late Fannie Mae Sturdivant Borden. Jo was a member of New Grove Baptist Church in Polkton and attended until declining health and was educated in the public schools of Anson County and attended Polkton High School. Although, she had no children of her own, she raised her great-niece, Jennifer Bowman and Teresa Rita (Dextra) Little, as her own and 4 God-children, who were dear to her heart, Dextra Little, Jr., Dominique Little, Jatoya Little and Wayne Ross. She leaves to cherish her memories, her father, George L. Borden of Polktn; great-great-nephew, NaZaren Houston; great-great-niece, TaJenae Cash; a special cousin who was also her best-friend, Lilly Mae Swartz of York , SC and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her sister and brother, Edith Mae Bowman and Luke Borden. Funeral services will be 2:00pm Monday, March 28, 2016 in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Williams Cemetery in Polkton. No service information has been added.
