LILESVILLE - Pastor Jody B. Campbell, 57, of Lilesville , NC formerly of Parkersburg, WV passed away March 10 after a short battle with cancer at his brothers in Vienna,WV. He was born Aug. 4, 1961 in Parkersburg, WV son of the late Russell F. Campbell and the late Jean Campbell.
Jody was a graduate of Parkersburg High School in 1979 and was a United Methodist pastor. He spent 8 years preaching at Browning UMC on the Blackfoot Indian Reservation in Montana. He then moved to North Carolina where he was Pastor at the Grace & Dix Creek UMC, Mitchell & Yancey UMC, New Hope UMC, Bethlehem UMC, and the last 3 years at Lilesville UMC, Forestville UMC and Olivet UMC.
Jody never met a stranger. From a young age he loved meeting people and helping them however he could. He loved his Congregations and was an avid WVU fan.
Jody is survived by sisters Carolyn Beckett, Parkersburg; Sandy Campbell, Vienna; brother Dana Campbell (Mary); good friend Debbie Wharton; best friend Rob Luthringer and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Jody was preceded in death by his wife, Suellyn Campbell, brother Steve Campbell and brother in law Doug Beckett.

Per Jody's request cremation is entrusted to Leavitt's Funeral Home, Parkersburg, WV. A private celebration of his life will be held by the family.
