Joe Lee Mr. Broadaway

ALBEMARLE-Mr. Joe Lee Broadaway, 59, died Monday, June 4, 2012 at his home. The family will greet friends Thursday from 3:00pm until 9:00pm at the home on 34002 Mabry Rd., Albemarle, NC 28001. Joe Lee was born in Anson County, NC May 8, 1953 a son of the late Walter Blair Broadaway and Alice McKenzie Broadaway Quick. He was employed with International Automotive Components (IAC) of Albemarle and enjoyed working on cars in his garage. He loved music and had been a member of the band Southern Born for 30 years. On Thursday nights he enjoyed gathering with his friends for practice at 'Joe's Place'. Surviving are his wife of 33 years, Deborah Chewning Broadaway of the home; his daughters, Jo Ann (Bobby Jenkins) Lemonds of Albemarle, Leslie (Chris) Tucker of Albemarle, Jessica (Nick) Griffin of Peachland and Alicia Broadaway of Albemarle; his grandchildren, Gregory Joe Lee (Ashley Webster) Broadaway and Briana Lemonds; his great-granddaughter, Aubrey Mae Broadaway; his brother, William 'Buck' Broadaway; many nieces and nephews; and beloved pet companion, Scooter. Joe Lee was preceded in death by his brother, Earl Franklin Broadaway and sister-in-law, Marie Broadaway. The arrangements are in care of Leavitt Funeral Home.
