Joe Fred Mr. Kirk

POLKTON - Mr. Joe Fred Kirk, 84, died Friday, November 16, 2012 at Ambassador Health and Rehab in Wadesboro. Services will be 2:00pm Sunday, November 18, 2012 by the graveside in Williams Cemetery with Rev. George Senter officiating. The family will greet friends following the service at the Polkton Depot and other times at the home. Joe Fred was born December 4, 1927 in Anson County, NC a son of the late Fred Jones Kirk and the late Nora Mae High Kirk. He was retired from Duff Norton, a member of Polkton Baptist Church and a veteran of the United States Merchant Marines having served during World War II. Surviving are his wife Lorena Napier Kirk of the home; his children, Freddie Kirk of Monroe and Delores Rivers of Polkton; his sister, Mary Frances Kiker of Polkton; 6 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
