LILESVILLE – Mr. John Edward Bacon, 89, peacefully died Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at Atrium Union in Monroe with his sons by his side.
Funeral services will be 2:00pm Sunday, February 23, 2020 at Forestville United Methodist Church with Rev. Sybil Perrell officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will greet friends following the service in the church fellowship hall.
John Edward was born May 2, 1930 in Anson County, NC, a son of the late George Washington bacon and the late Martha Adele Wall Bacon.
He was a graduate of Lilesville High School and attended Pfeiffer College. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He was the owner and operator of Anson Music Company and was known as ‘The Juke Box Man”.
Having been raised in a home near the Pee Dee River, he was an avid gardener and enjoyed fishing.
Surviving are his wife of 65 years, Rowene Morgan Bacon; his sons and daughters-in-law, John Edward Bacon, Jr. and Connie of Cary and William Morgan Bacon and wife, Pam of Bolivia; his grandchildren, the twins, Haley Bacon and Lindsey Bacon both of Cary and the girls, Kelley Griffin and husband, Brent of Leland and Crystal Wainright and husband, Nick of Rocky Point; his great-grandchildren, Casey and Abby Wainright and Greyson Morgan Griffin and his nieces and nephews and their families.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to John Edward’s care-giver, Katie Russell for all she has done for him and their family.
