On Friday, May 21, 2021, Mr. John Henry Garris, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, peacefully slipped away to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
He was born January 10, 1952 in Anson County, NC and was a son of the late Roscoe Garris and the late Tiny Belle Taylor Garris.
John Henry Garris was educated in the public schools of Anson County and was owner and operator of John Garris Logging for more than 50 years, retiring due to declining health.
He accepted Christ at an early age and was a faithful member of East Rock Ford Church in Wadesboro where he was ordained a Deacon.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 47 years, Daisy Gaddy Garris; his children, Mary L. Garris of Morven, Tukisha Garris of Wadesboro, Cynthia Garris – Horne (Scotty) of Indian Trail and John Garris, Jr. (Squarnicia) of Wadesboro; his grandchildren, Dylan Garris, China Garris, Sam Smith, De’John Pemberton, Veronica Smith, Jayden Horne, Dominique Garris, Amya Garris, Javis Garris and Jadarian Garris; his brothers, James Garris (Shirley) and Levernal Garris (Rino) both of Wadesboro; his sisters, Fannie Clyburn (Jay Van) and Mary Bowman (Wille) both of Wadesboro and Margie Williams (Steve) of Spring Lake; his sisters-in-law, Darlene Garris, Gloria Gaddy and Annie Crowder all of Wadesboro; his brothers-in-law, Weldon Timmons, Jr. and John Gaddy both of Wadesboro; his aunts and uncles, Mary Taylor, Emma Taylor, Virginia Taylor, Issac Taylor and Clarence Taylor; a special cousin, Leevonda Simon and a special niece, Belinda Gail Little-Smith along with many other nieces, nephews, cousins relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters, Alan W. Garris, John Wesley Garris, Barbara Jean Garris-Little and Geneva Garris – Timmons and a very special friend, Virgil Chance.
Funeral services will be 3:00 pm Friday, May 28, 2021, in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home. Interment will follow in East Rock Ford Church Cemetery.
The family is gathering at their home on Davidson Lane.
