Johnnie Otis Mr. Short

Lilesville- Mr. Johnnie Otis Short, 56, departed his life July 1, 2016 at Hospice of Union County in Monroe, NC. He was born March 23, 1960 in Thomasville, NC to the late James and Fannie L. Short. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Ronnie Short. Otis attended Bowman High School, later attended job corps for a short period of time. He worked many years for Ricky Gatewood and enjoyed mechanic work Otis leaves to cherish his memories, 2 brothers, James (Juanita) Short of Lilesville, Willie (Beatrice) Short of Marshville; 3 sisters, Teresa Short and fiance, Timmy Harris of Wadesboro, Phyllis (Bruce) Betsill of Spartenburg, SC and Fannie (Dee) Crump of the home; 9 nieces, Ashley, Tay, Trena, Kandice, Stephanie, Rose, Farrah, Levenia and Tameka; 5 nephews, Marcus, Stacy, Jarvis, Kris, and Jeremy; 9 aunts, 2 uncles and a host of cousins and friends. The family of Johnnie Otis Short would like to express their sincere appreciation for the many kind acts of sympathy shared with them during their time of bereavement. You showed so much love that can never be forgotten. You help lift a burden and for that we say thank you. A special thank you to Linda Hough for your willingness to take on such a task, to you we say thank you. Funeral services will be 2:00pm Thursday, July 7, 2016 in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Henry Grove Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Lilesville. No service information has been added.
