Johnny Ray Williams

ROCKINGHAM- On Sunday, March 16, 2025, Mr. Johnny Ray Williams, 62, passed away peacefully at Hospice Haven in Rockingham. 

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Wednesday, March 19, 2025, in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home with Rev. Lindsey Austin officiating. Interment will be private in Eastside Cemetery.

The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the funeral home. 

Johnny Ray was born May 25, 1962, in Richmond County, NC, and was a son of Ray Louis Williams and Lena Brigman Williams. He was a graduate of Bowman High School in Wadesboro and had worked with Hornwood in Lilesville. He enjoyed fishing and collecting small race cars.

Those who are left to cherish his memory are his son, Kelly Chavis (Jessica) of Rockingham; his granddaughters, Haisley and Hadley Chavis; his parents, Ray and Lena Williams of Rockingham; his sister and brother, Mary Ann Williams (Charlie) and David Williams both of Polkton and his nieces and nephews and their families. 

The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of Richmond County Hospice and Hospice Haven for the wonderful care they gave him.
