CHERAW, SC – Mrs. Josephine Lowery Williams, 80, died peacefully on Monday, July 26, 2021 at her home.
Josephine was born May 7, 1941 in Anson County, NC and was a daughter of the late Andrew Vester Lowery and the late Walter Lorraine Lowe Lowery.
She was a graduate of Morven High School and had worked for a number of years in textiles, having worked at West Knitting Mills in Wadesboro.
Surviving are her sons and daughters-in-law, Frank Williams, Jr. and Robin and Jack Wesley Williams and Sherri all of Cheraw, SC; her grandchildren, Justin Williams (Leslie Walters) and Summer Williams (Jeremiah Bryant) both of Cheraw, SC, Morgan Williams (Hunter Gainey) and Stanton Shepherd (Julie Stephens) both of Chesterfield, SC and Cody Brigman (Jessica) of Rockingham, NC; her great-grandchildren, Josie, Caroline, Carmen, Suzannah, Austin and Reagan; her sisters and brothers-in-law, Margaret and Donnie Adams of Morven, Myra Carpenter and William of Chesterfield, SC, Harold Poe of Lilesville, NC, Thomas Williams (Melvina) and Mary Lou Connelly ( Bobby “Pee Wee” Black) both of Wadesboro and her nieces and nephews and their families.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Maynard Frank Williams, Sr. and by her brother and sister, Richard Lowery and Linda Poe.
Josephine’s family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to Carrie Rhyne, Debbie Gilmore and Gladys West for their help in caring for her so that she could remain at home. Their love and support will always be remembered.
The family will have a private memorial service at a later date and friends and family are invited to visit ta the home at any time.
