WADESBORO - Mrs. Joyce McCollum Templeton, 80, died Monday, November 11, 2013 at Ambassador Health and Rehab following a long illness.
Funeral services will be 2:00pm Sunday, November 17, 2013 in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home.
Graveside services will be 11:00am Monday, November 18, 2013 at Carolina Memorial Park in Concord.
The family will greet friends from 6:00pm until 8:00pm Saturday, November 16, 2013 at the funeral home.
Joyce was born August 8, 1933 in Cabarrus County, NC a daughter of the late John Calvin McCollum, Sr. and the late Mary Stancil McCollum. She grew up in Kannapolis and was a graduate of A.L. Brown High School. She spent 30 years in Charlotte and worked for Emery Air Freight and Conway Freight.
Surviving are her husband of 60 years, John Templeton of the home; her beloved Jack Russell, Rascal; a granddaughter and great-grandson of Florida and her extended family and friends of Kannapolis, Charlotte and Wadesboro. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Chip Templeton.
She was a loving and devoted wife and mother and will be remembered for her beautiful smile, her positive attitude and outlook and her kind and gentle spirit.
