Peachland – Mrs. Juanita Smith Wright, age 74, died peacefully at her home on Tuesday, March 31st after a lengthy battle with cancer.
Due to restrictions on public gatherings issued by the State of North Carolina, funeral services will be private.
Juanita was born in Rockingham, NC, on August 30, 1945, a daughter of the late Sadie Lee Ransom and William T. Smith. She grew up in the neighborhood behind Little Cotton Mfg. and went on to spend most of her life in the production of textiles. She was retired from Polkton Shirt Inc.
Survivors include her husband, William V. “Bill” Wright, Jr. of the home; a son, Danny R. Wright (Terri) of Wadesboro; a daughter, Sandy W. Evans (Tony) of Ruby, SC; three grandchildren, Anthony Taylor, Brian Taylor, and Danielle Wright; and four great-grandchildren, Addison Eury, Skye Taylor, Easton Taylor, and Mason Taylor.
In addition to her parents, Juanita was preceded in death by a brother, Tom Smith and a sister, Frances Vaughn.
The family suggest memorials be made to Hospice of Union County, 700 W. Roosevelt Blvd, Monroe, NC 28110.
