WADESBORO - Mrs. Katherine Vaughn Pinkston, 75, died Friday July 4, 2014 at her home. Funeral services will be 1:00pm Monday, July 7, 2014 in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Goodwin officiating. Interment will follow in Griffin Cemetery in Polkton. The family will greet friends from 5:00pm until 7:00pm Sunday, July 6, 2014 at the funeral home and other times at the home. Katherine was born February 4, 1939 in Anson County, NC a daughter of the late Jesse Mills and Eloise Grooms Vaughn. She was retired from Medical Specialties in Wadesboro and attended Kings Vineyard Church in Wadesboro. Surviving are her sons, Scott Sutton of Wadesboro and Lane Pinkston of Linwood, PA; step-son, Richard Pinkston, Jr. of Matthews; her sister, Shirley Plowman of Lilesville; her grandchildren, Mitchell Sutton, Colton Sutton, Christopher Sutton, Bethany Sutton and Harleigh Johnson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Pinkston, her brothers and sister, Thomas Vaughn, Darrell Vaughn, Kenneth Vaughn, Donnie Vaughn and Betty Johnson and her step-daughter, Gwen Pinkston.
