WADESBORO - Mrs. Kathryn Broome Teal, 70, died Friday, September 20, 2013 at her home. Funeral services will be 3:00pm Sunday, September 22, 2013 at Mt. Beulah Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The body will lie in state at their home on Saturday and the family will greet friends any time after 2:00pm on Saturday. She was born February 16, 1943 in Anson County, NC a daughter of the late Roy Lee and Wincy Griffin Broome. She was employed with Hornwood for many years until she decided to stay at home to love and nurture her grandchildren. She received many blessings by cooking wonderful family meals, caring for family and enjoying many friends and neighbors. Surviving are her husband, Ted of the home; her daughters and sons-in-law, Cindy and Tim Jenkins, Coco and Tim Sweatt, and Missy and Jamie Phifer all of Wadesboro and Carla and Michael Freeman of Lilesville; her grandchildren, Travis Jenkins, Samuel Freeman and wife, Casey, Amanda Henry and husband, Jamie, Sadie Freeman and fiance', Aaron Shaver, Ted Sweatt and Caleb Phifer; her great-grandchildren, Gretchen and Gracelyn Henry; and her brother and sister, Olin Broome and Martha of Beaufort, SC and Melba Martin of Lilesville. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Willie Poplin, her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Ruby and Samuel Gatewood and by her brother-in-law, Tony Teal.
