POLKTON - Mr. Kenneth Marvin Curran, Jr., 69, went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at FirstHealth Richmond Memorial Hospital in Rockingham.
Funeral services will be 2:00pm Friday, December 14, 2012 at New Home Baptist Church with Dr. Joe Brown and Dr. Tommy Ross officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will greet friends on Thursday from 5:00pm until 7:00pm at Leavitt Funeral Home and other times at the home.
Ken was born May 18, 1943 in Anson County, NC a son of the late Kenneth Marvin and Geneva Walters Curran. He worked for more than 20 years with Professional Piping in Peachland and later retired from Lisk Trucking as a mechanic with 10 years of service. He was a faithful member of New Home Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife of 48 years, Ruby Davis Curran of the home; his son, Kenneth Marvin 'Kenny' Curran, III of Charlotte; his daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly Curran Edwards and Kirk of Polkton; his grandchildren, Jon, Olivia, Brooke, and Emily Edwards; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Diane and Malcolm Fowler and Pam and Bobby McCollum all of Polkton.
Ken was a loving and devoted husband, daddy and granddaddy. He was proud of his children's accomplishments, while his family was equally as proud of him for his exemplary role as a husband and daddy. He had a warm smile, strong handshake and was a gentle giant of a man.
