Wadesboro- Miss Laura Frances 'Teen' Brower, 95, died Saturday, January 3, 2015 at Huntersville Oaks Nursing Facility in Huntersville. Funeral services will be 2:00pm Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at First United Methodist Church in Wadesboro with Rev. Benny Clodfelter officiating. Interment will follow in Hanna Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the services beginning at 1:00pm in the Lady's Parlor of First United Methodist Church. Aunt Teen was born in Anson County, NC May 24, 1919 a daughter of the late Charles Alexander and Charlotte Lee Brower. She was a graduate of Wadesboro High School and Pfeiffer College. Aunt Teen retired from Hornwood Mfg. and was a member of First United Methodist Church in Wadesboro. Surviving are her nieces and nephews, Amelia Hildreth English, Margaret Ann Hildreth Yokely, Tabitha Hildreth Deese, Cedric 'Jack' Hildreth, Sharlia Brasington Ragan, Benjy Brasington, Cornelia Gaddy Caudle, Gail Brower Huggins, Jean Brower Foreman, Robert 'Robbie' Brower, Jr., Penny Nowell Wright, Joan Nowell Lasuzzo, John Nowell, Beverly Ann Caldwell Yates, Charles Lee Safrit, Julie Safrit Gadd, Janice Safrit, Gloria Brower, William Brower, Jr., Linda Brower Honeycutt, and Cathy Brower Hales ; special great-niece and great-nephew, Jennifer Yates McGee and Andy Yates; and numerous great nieces and great-nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Jennie Brower Brasington, Mary Neal Gaddy, Margaret Hildreth, Robert Astor Brower, Charles Brower, Anne B. Caldwell, William 'Bud' Brower, Sarah Elizabeth Brower Williams and Julia B. Safrit; two nieces, Janet Brasington Coffman and Judy Nowell Starnes; and one nephew, Jimmy Nowell. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff at Huntersville Oaks Nursing Facility, Ambassador Health and Rehab and Hattie and James Capel for their kind and compassionate care given to Aunt Teen. Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, 118 E. Morgan St., Wadesboro, NC 28170. The arrangements are in care of Leavitt Funeral Home.
