Laura Bell Cowick Wilhoit

ANSONVILLE Mrs. Laura Bell Cowick Wilhoit, 91, died Thursday, October 5, 2017 at Anson Health and Rehab in Wadesboro. Funeral services will be 11:00AM Saturday, October 7, 2017 in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Hamer Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Mt. Gilead. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Laura Bell was born February 14, 1926 in Anson County, NC a daughter of the late Johnny Wilbur Cowick and the late Blanche Staton Cowick Coy. She had worked for a number of years in textiles and was also a homemaker. She was a member of Ansonville Baptist Church. Surviving are her children, Buddy (Toni) Wilhoit of Ansonville, Ann (Gary) Thompson of Norwood and Evelyn (Mike) Williams of Charlotte; her daughter-in-law, Connie Wilhoit of Ansonville; 7 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marion Lester Wilhoit, son, Wayne "Hoot" Wilhoit, and her sister and brothers, Hazel Taylor, Wilbur, J.B., Ernes, Fred and Charlie Cowick. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Anson Health and Rehab for their loving care given to Laura Bell.
