Wadesboro - Mrs. Lee Esther Little Conrad was born May 7, 1923 in Anson County, NC a daughter of the late Lee Willis Little and the late Dessie Maye Little. On Wednesday, October 22, 2014, our Heavenly Father saw fit in His divine wisdom to call our beloved Nanny from labor to rest at the age 91.
She accepted Christ as her Savior and attended Deep Creek Baptist Church and later became a member of Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church, where she served on the deaconess ministry, sang with the hymns choir, active member of the senior ministry, formerly, the VIP's, and was responsible for the flowers on the altar for church services. She served Ebenezer Church faithfully until her health declined.
Lee Esther attended Anson County Schools and was employed with the VFW Club, Anson County Hospital and later a homemaker.
Nanny leaves her legacy and loving memory to her loving daughter, Bertie L. Ingram of Wadesboro; her 13 grandchildren, Denise Willoughby, Rosalind Polk, Marvin Little, Edgar (Lily) Hailey, Stephana (Thedis) Spencer, Veronica Hailey, Barbara Ingram, Kim Hailey, Marion (Jeffery) Teal, Bryant (Fonda) Hailey, Tammy Ingram, Stanley 'Master' Hailey and Monique Hailey; 23 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren a loving sister-in-law, Dorothy M. Little, 2 nieces, 1 nephew and a host of other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Conrad, her daughter, Jo~Leatha Hailey, her great-grandsons, T.J. Spencer, Jr., Sky Polk and Timmy Bennett and her brother, James 'Pete' Little.
She was lovingly called Nanny, not only by her family, but by friends of the family whom she endeared herself to. Nanny was loved by all.
Funeral services will be 3:00pm Sunday, October 26, 2014 at Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church, Wadesboro.
Interment will follow in Westview Memorial Park.
