Lena Mae Hough Mrs. Gregory

WADESBORO - Mrs. Lena Mae Hough Gregory, 81, died Thursday, February 21, 2013 at her home. Funeral services will be 2:00pm Sunday, February 24, 2013 in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Cloud officiating. Interment will follow in Anson Memorial Park. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service on Sunday at the funeral home. Lena was born March 18, 1931 in Anson County, NC a daughter of the late Jasper Harmon Hough and Mary Braswell Hough. She was retired from Zimmer Manufacturing with 27 years of service. Surviving are her children, Ray. T. Gregory, Jr., and wife Jackie of Locust, Susan Gregory Short and husband, David of Asheboro, Cindy Gregory Missbach and husband, Michael of Tobaccoville, and David Ross Gregory and wife, Suzanne of Monroe and her sister, Betty Hardison and husband, Mac of Wadesboro; 11 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Ray T. Gregory, Sr. and by a son, Mark Edward Gregory. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to their Aunt Betty for her love and devotion to their mother and her sister, most especially for her daily visits. Also, a special thank you to her caregivers, Rita Alexander, Emogene Cash, Jackie Cash Little, Verica Sturdivant, Mary Sturdivant, Fran Pratt-Smith, Flora Maske, Brenda Teal Wallace and Joyce Johnson and special friends, Ashleigh Hardison and Sheila Sikes for their loving support of Lena over the years and recently during her declining health. The family will remain forever grateful to Hospice of Union County and Anson Community Hospital for their exemplary service and medical care provided for their mother.
