Polkton Mr. Leo William Tyson, 75, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 7, 2019, while a patient at Richmond County Hospice.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00AM Wednesday, February 13th, at All Souls Episcopal Church in Ansonville, NC. The family will greet friends following the service.
Born in Anson County on March 23, 1943, Leo was a son of the late Merritt Pearl and Ethel Maner Tyson. He owned and operated Tysons Hardware Store in Wadesboro for a number of years and more recently Tysons Grocery and Hardware in Ansonville until his retirement.
Survivors include a son, John Tyson (Connie) of Norwood and a daughter, Ginna Tyson Vest (Steve) of Winston-Salem; and six grandchildren, Savannah Tyson, Kattie Tyson, Claudia Tyson, Abby Vest, Andrew Vest and Christopher Vest.
Also surviving are his brother and sisters, Robert "Shorty" Tyson (Dot) of Wadesboro, Alice Moehler of Rockingham, Ella Hargett of Wingate, and Jennie Thomas of Wadesboro; and a brother-in-law, Joe Gaddy of Wadesboro.
