On Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, NC, Mr. Leroy Burns departed this life at 11:20AM. Leroy was born April 7, 1951 in Craven County, NC a son of the late Curtis Lee Burns and the late Olivia Sturdivant Burns. He attended public schools of Anson County and worked with Dixie Lawn Care. He was a member of Tabernacle House of Praise. Surviving are his wife, Laura Ann Miller Burns; his children, Wendy Chatman, Clifford Miller, Elisha (Derrick) Blakeney, Leroy (Shawnna) Burns, Jr., Kristie (Travis) Gadson, Lee (DeAubany) Burns, Keyshon Burns; 28 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are his sisters, Ola Marsh, Stella (Laney) White and Vivian (Willie) McBride; his brothers, Curtis Burns, Charlie Burns, Claude Burns, Clyde (Angela) Burns, Freddie Joe (C. Denise) Burns and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and extended family and friends. There are other special surviving family members including, Ben and Benitta Covington, James Tillman, Stevie Burns, Sandy Burns, Wanda Miller and Gabby Tobias. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Myra Anne Long, a brother, Crawford Pearl Burns, grandmother, Mary Sturdivant and grandson, Travis Burns. Funeral services will be 11:00am Saturday, December 29, 2018 in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Williams Cemetery in Polkton..
