Ansonville - Mrs. Lina Simpson Springer Hildreth, 88, passed away on February 21, 2012 at Ambassador Health and Rehab in Wadesboro, NC.
Memorial services will be 3:00PM Saturday, February 25, 2012, in Cedar Hill United Methodist Church. The family will greet friends beginning at 2:00PM in the church's Educational building.
Lina was born in Anson County on April 2, 1923, a daughter of the late Andrew Jackson and Bessie Simpson Springer. She worked through the years in a variety of jobs that included West Knitting Mill, Hendley Oil Company and the Ansonville Lumber Company. More than anything, she was an exceptional wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker. Gardening, growing flowers, cooking, sewing and painting were some of her many talents.
She was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters, Lance, Jim, Jack, Preston, Bettie Mae, Belle, Lilla, and Mary; a grandson, Troy R. Hildreth; and a son-in-law, Henry W. Little.
Survivors include her husband of 70 years, George Houston Hildreth Jr.; a son, George W. Hildreth (Joyce) of Eden, NC; two daughters, Mary H. Brammer (John M.) of Charlotte, and Cynthia H. Little of Wadesboro. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Adrienne (Wade) Walters, Steven Hildreth, Catherine Hildreth, David, Mark & Danny Brammer, Carly & Holly Little; and 2 great-grandchildren, Carson & Coleman Walters.
