ANSONVILLE - Mrs. Linda Gorman Burr, 59, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, December 10, 2012 at her home.
A service of worship to celebrate the life of Linda will be 1:00pm Saturday, December 15, 2012 at Ansonville United Methodist Church with Rev. Paul McClure and Rev. Jeff Glenn officiating. Interment will follow in Cedar Hill/Concord Cemetery in Ansonville.
The family will greet friends from 5:00pm until 7:00pm Friday at Leavitt Funeral Home in Wadesboro and other times at the home.
Linda was born December 2, 1953 at Camp Lejune, NC a daughter of the late Rex and Setsuko Okuda Gorman. She had worked for a number of years for Norman Transcript in Norman, OK.
She was a true help-mate to her husband in his ministry as pastor of Ansonville, Cedar Hill and Concord United Methodist Churches. She took great pride in her role of serving the members of both the churches and those in the community in service to her Lord and assisting her husband in his ministry.
Surviving are her husband, Rev. Robert D. Burr, Sr. of the home; her children, Michael (Jane) Keller of Norman, OK, Stacy (Joel) Cunningham of Brian, TX, Jarrett (Elise) Ross and Jonathan (Christie) Burr both of Wadesboro, Dale (Kimberly) Burr of Palier, CA and Elizabeth (Tim) Brown of Fayetteville; her grandchildren, Zachary and Nathaniel Keller, Caitlin Ross, Zoie Burr, Hannah, Abigail, Caleb and Evelyn Cunningham; her brothers and sister, Frank (Helen) Gorman of Williamsburg, VA, Roger (Beth) Gorman of Norman, OK and Barbara (Glen) Spalding of McArthur, CA; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Betty and Jesse Burr of Wadesboro; her brothers-in-law, Jesse Burr of Wadesboro and David (Sandra) Burr of Wingate; her sister-in-law, Monica (Naguib) Farrah of Weddington and her sisters of the heart, Sandra Myers of Monroe and Cecile Beasley of Ansonville.
She will be lovingly remembered as a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.
