Linda Sue McCormick

LILESVILLE - On Tuesday, October 17, 2023, Miss Linda Sue McCormick, 74, passed away peacefully at Hospice Haven in Rockingham.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, October 21, 2023 at Forestville United Methodist Church with Rev. Sybil Perrell officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the church and other times at the McCormick home place in Lilesville.

Linda Sue was born September 29, 1949 in Anson County, NC and was a daughter of the late Harvey Jesse McCormick and the late Jessie Mae Bunn McCormick. She was a graduate of Bowman High School and had worked as a receptionist for Dr. Ruth Elium in Wadesboro.

She was a life-long member of Forestville United Methodist Church where she participated faithfully with the United Methodist Women and the annual ingathering.

Those left to cherish her memory are her brother and sister-in-law, Buck and Mary McCormick of Lilesville; her nieces and nephews, Stacey McCormick of Lilesville, Sean McCormick (Meilani) of Julian and Charles Holley (Ashley) and Mary Katherine Holley both of Lilesville; her great-nieces and great-nephews, Calvin Smith (Kimberly), Tyra Smith, Leila McCormick, Joseph McCormick Luke McCormick, Max Griffin and C.T. Holley; her great-great-niece and great-great-nephew, Brooklyn Smith and Caleb Smith; her aunt, Lib Lear of Wadesboro and her cousins and their families.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister and brother, Jo Ann McCormick and Charlie McCormick.

Linda Sue's family is most grateful to the staff at Wadesboro Health and Rehab in Wadesboro for the love and care they have given her while a resident there.
