Lilesville -Linder Crawford LeGrand, AKA "Lollipop" was born July 12, 1951 a daughter of the late Charlie and Bernice Crawford. She departed her life on Wednesday, Frebruary 14, 2018 while a patient at Catawba Valley Medical Center in Hickory. She had been in declining health for a number of years. She confessed Christ at an early age and attended Henry Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Lilesville and graduated from Bowman High School in 1969. While Linder was working at Wade Manufacturer raising two beautiful girls: Tabitha Dorell and Tonita Lynn, she met and married Thomas Jefferson LeGrand Sr.,they were married and soon added three more children to the family; Thomas Jr., Tamela and Timothy. Linder was an excellent cook and was well-known for her delicious sweet potato pies. An accomplished seamstress, she made clothing for herself and her children. An avid fisherman, she enjoyed fishing with Tim and Tina. One of her favorite past times was playing cards and enjoying big red lollipops; yet most of all spending time with her family was her greatest joy. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Sedrick, Sylvester, Hedrick and Charlie Crawford, Jr. Surviving are her three daughters, Tamela LeGrand of the home, Tabitha Little (Tony) and Tonita Ratliff both of Charlotte, NC; two sons, Thomas LeGrand. Jr. (Dr. Takeda) of Wingate, NC and Timothy LeGrand( Niasia) of Charlotte, NC; nine grandchildren, Akira LeGrand of the home, Gabrielle Diggs of Wadesboro, NC, Trinity and Taylor LeGrand of Wingate, NC, Detorress Robinson of Wadesboro, NC, LaPorscha Smith of Charlotte, NC, Raven Smith of Greensboro, NC, Cardarius Spencer of Charlotte, NC and Timothy LeGrand, Jr. of Charlotte, NC; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Annette Evans of Raleigh, NC and Bonita Bowman of Charlotte, NC and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and a special friend, Nancy Warren of Wadesboro, NC. God gives his hardest battles to his toughest soldiers and our Mom was a true fighter. Memories will forever be with everyone she encountered. Funeral services will be 2:00pm Sunday, February 18, 2018 in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Henry Grove Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Lilesville. The family will greet friends from 1:30pm until 2:00pm Sunday at the chapel.
