Polkton - Mrs. Lois Thomas Moore Allen, 88, died Saturday, July 9, 2016 at Anson Health and Rehab in Wadesboro. Funeral services will be 2:00pm Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at Wightman United Methodist Church in Polkton with Rev. Dale W. Bost and Rev. Hugo Villagrana officiating. Interment will follow in church cemetery. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 1:00pm in the church. Lois was born July 25, 1927 in Union County, NC a daughter of the late Floyd Wilson and Nettie Thomas Moore. She was a graduate of Burnsville High School and retired from Burlington Hosiery Mill. She was a faithful and dedicated member of Wightman United Methodist Church and will be remembered by her many acts of kindness. She is survived by her children Barbara Allen Lee and husband, Sam of Marshville, Pasty Allen Wix of Hamlet and James Steve Allen and wife, Nancy of Burnsville; her grandchildren, Sharon Howell, Stevie Lang, Scotty Allen, Angie Baucom, Rena Honeycutt, Penny Grant, and Leslie Hall; seventeen great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Jean Carpenter of Albemarle and Blanche Curlee of Aquadale. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Addison Allen, a son-in-law, John W. Wix, and two brothers, Billy Moore and Shelly Moore. In lieu of flowers, memorials made be made to: Wightman United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Cindy Gaddy, 282 Gaddy Ferry Rd., Polkton, NC 28135.
