Lois McRae Hall

Funeral services have changed location due to the weather.

POLKTON - On Wednesday, December 6, 2023, Mrs. Lois McRae Hall, 81, passed away peacefully at Atrium Health Union in Monroe with her family gathered at her bedside.

Funeral services will be 2:30 PM on Sunday December 10, 2023 at Leavitt Funeral Home. The family will greet friends at the funeral home following the service.

Lois was born September 5, 1942 in Anson County, NC and was a daughter of the late Walton McRae and the late Lois Louise Griffin McRae. She worked for many years in textiles, retiring from Anson Shirt Factory and was a member of Brown Creek Baptist Church.

Her survivors include her step-children, Cathy Hall of Laurinburg and Mike Hall (Earlene) of Darlington, SC; her step-grandchildren, Amanda  Dixon (Hugh) of Laurinburg, David Hall (Liesl) of Peachland, Tammy Baucom (Tim) of Peachland, Dylan Hall of Polkton and Dustin Martin of Polkton and their families; her sister, Mildred Hudson of Nixa, MO and her nieces and nephews and their families.

Lois' family is most grateful to her friend and neighbor, Kelly Cox Newton (Phillip) for all she did for her since becoming her neighbor.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alexander Hall and her brothers and sisters, Eugene McRae, Franklin McRae, Susan Edmisten, William R. “Bill” McRae, Preston McRae and Carolyn Downer.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Brown Creek Baptist Church, 4210 NC-742, Wadesboro, NC 28170 .
