Wadesboro - Mamie Eddins Hamilton of Chester, VA and formerly of Wadesboro, NC went to be with her Lord and savior on Sunday, December 30, 2012.
A service of worship to celebrate the life of Mamie will be 2:00 pm Wednesday, January 2nd , 2013 in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home Wadesboro, NC. Interment will follow in Anson Memorial Park. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
Mamie was born on September 23rd, 1913, the daughter of the late James David and Lillie Moore Eddins. She was one of four children being predeceased by her brother, Robert Eddins and her beloved sister, Hallie Eddins Morris.
She is survived by her brother James L (Mary) Eddins of High Point, NC. Also surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Diana and Jim Lee, of Chester, VA, with whom she has resided for the last seven years, granddaughter, Karen Zuidema and husband Craig of Virginia Beach, VA and a great granddaughter, Lilly Zuidema. Mamie also leaves behind many other relatives, friends, neighbors and caregivers who were very special to her.
Mamie was a lifelong resident of Anson County, and lived in Wadesboro for most of her life. She retired from Reeves Brothers Corp (formerly West Knitting Mills) at the age 70 after 35 years of service. She was a faithful member of Camden Presbyterian Church where her mother was a charter member. Mamie was an excellent cook and was known for her pound cakes and pecan pies. She was a giving person and always put others first in her life.
