Margaret Smith Williams

           MORVEN – On Monday, August 15, 2022, Mrs. Margaret Smith Williams, 88, of Chesterfield, SC and formerly of Morven, NC, passed away peacefully at her home.

            Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Sunday, August 21, 2022, at Mt. Beulah Baptist Church with Rev. Randy Storz and Rev. Donald Wallace officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

            The family will greet friends from 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM, Saturday, August 20, 2022, at Leavitt Funeral Home.

            Margaret was born November 23, 1933, in Chesterfield County, SC and was a daughter of the late Robert J. Smith and the late Dora Birtie Oliver Smith. She was a graduate of Chesterfield High School and was retired from Dan River Manufacturing in Morven.

            She was a long-time member of Mt. Beulah Baptist Church in Wadesboro. She was very supportive of her late husband and his gospel music ministry. She loved to cook and enjoyed sewing.

            Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Robert Riley of Chesterfield, SC; her son, Robert Williams of Tennessee; her grandchildren, Angel Riley of Chesterfield, SC and Tianna Williams and Jada Williams of both of Rockingham; her mother-in-law, Lillie Williams of Morven and her nieces and nephews and their families.

            In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Williams and her sister and brothers, Emma Mae McLaurin, Ansel Smith, Robert L. “June” Smith, Thomas D. Smith and William Perry “Doc” Smith.

            In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mt. Beulah Baptist Church, 3373 Country Club Rd. Wadesboro, NC 28170.
