WADESBORO - Mrs. Margie Bell Floyd, 93, of Monroe and formerly of Wadesboro, died Thursday, January 3, 2013 at The Brian Center in Monroe. Services will be 2:00pm Saturday, January 5, 2013 by the graveside in Hopewell United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Carroll Anthony officiating. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service. Margie was born in Anson County, NC May 25, 1919 a daughter of the late Merritt Floyd and the late Bell Helms Floyd. Surviving are her sons, Robert Floyd of McConnells, SC and Paul M. Floyd and wife Lavonne of Marshville; her grandchildren, Annette Forester and Christy Mabe both of Marshville, Crystal Banks of Tega Cay, SC and Scott Thompson of Winston-Salem and 10 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Ellis Floyd and by her granddaughter, Janet Floyd. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hopewell United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, % Susie McSwain, 424 Pork Rd., Peachland, NC 28133. The arrangements are in care of Leavitt Funeral Home.
