Marty Mrs. Smith

Mrs. Margaret Irene Smith, 86, passed away July 10, 2013 at Fairhaven Assisted Living in Brunswick, GA. Graveside services will be 2:00PM Sunday, July 14 at Anson Memorial Park with Dr. Robert Hunter officiating. Mrs. Smith was born Nov. 14, 1926 in Wadesboro, NC. The daughter of the late Irene Vaughn Smith and the late Atlas Cleveland Smith, she was a graduate of Wadesboro High School and Women's College of North Carolina in Greensboro. Mrs. Smith was a long time member of the First Baptist Church of Wadesboro, a charter member of the Junior Woman's Club, and the Hospital Auxiliary. She retired from Smith's Electric Company as Vice President where she worked alongside her late husband James B Smith in 1980. She is survived by her son James R Smith II, his wife Lillie R Smith of Lawrenceville, G; and two grandsons, James R Smith III and William B Smith.
