WADESBORO – On Friday, October 11, 2024, Mr. Marvin C. “Cooter” Deese, 76, passed away peacefully at Richmond County Hospice Haven in Rockingham with his beloved daughter and his sister-in-law at his bedside.

He retired with 20 years of service.

Cooter enjoyed times shared with is family and friends, especially outings to Papa Joes in Wadesboro to catch up with his friends. He liked to keep his finger on the pulse of anything going on in Anson County or the Town of Wadesboro.

Those who are left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Leslie Deese of Wadesboro; his brother and sister-in-law, Troy and Patricia Deese of Wadesboro; his sisters-in-law, Tobitha Deese of Charlotte and Vella Deese of Monroe and his nieces and nephews and their families.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers and sister, Maurice Deese, Earl Deese, Vernon Deese, Buford Deese and Shirley Bailey.

The family is most grateful to the staff at Atrium Health Anson and Atrium Health Union for all they did for him and most recently the staff of Richmond County Hospice and Hospice Haven for the way in which they cared for him during his final weeks.
