Mary Elizabeth Diggs Dean

MORVEN Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Diggs Dean, 82, died Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at Carolinas Medical Center Union in Monroe. Funeral services will be 11:00am Saturday, March 31, 2018 at Shiloh United Methodist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Mary was born December 15, 1936 in Anson County, NC a daughter of the late Robert Lee "Bob" Diggs and the late Nellie Brock Diggs. Prior to retirement, she worked at Bill Capels Grocery Store and following retirement she worked at Crazy Ladies Greenhouse in Morven. She was a life-long member of Shiloh United Methodist Church, where she remained faithful until declining health. Surviving are her children, Penny (Donnie) Tarlton, Bobby (Linda) Dean, Jr. and Andy (Kim) Dean all of Morven and Eric Dean of McFarlan; her brother, Larry (Mona) Diggs of Polkton; 7 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Dean, Sr., daughter-in-law, Lorie Dean, brothers, Marshall Diggs and Riley "Bud" Diggs and a special friend, Lester Williamson.
