WADESBORO Mrs. Mary Helen Dutton, 85, took her place in Heaven on Thursday, June 27, 2019 while at Hospice of Union County in Monroe.
Funeral services will be 11:00am Saturday, June 29, 2019 in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home with Rev. Curtis Williams officiating. Interment will follow in Anson Memorial Park.
The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home and other times at the home.
Mary Helen was born June 28, 1933 in Anson County, NC a daughter of the late Joseph Coley who died when Mary Helen was 14 months old and the late Virginia Mowery Coley Williams and the late Odell Williams.
She was a graduate of Wadesboro High School and worked for many years with West Knitting Mills in the business office.
A true Christian lady, she was a member of Camden Presbyterian Church until the church was closed and later became a member of Bethel United Methodist Church, where she was active with the church women and she attended Brown Creek Baptist Church with her family.
Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Angie Dutton of Polkton; her daughter, Glenda Gardner of Wadesboro; her son-in-law, Bobby Gardner of Polkton and her grandchildren, Zach Gardner of Charlotte and Kayla Dutton of Polkton.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Greene Dutton.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Union County, 700 W. Roosevelt Blvd., Monroe, NC 28110.
