NORWOOD - Mrs. Mary Helen Huneycutt Helms, 77, died Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at Presbyterian Hospital Hospice in Charlotte, NC. Services will be 3:00pm Saturday, March 19, 2016 by the graveside in Running Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, 24425 Millingport Rd., Locust, with Elder Ralph Dale officiating. The family will greet friends following the service in the church fellowship hall. Helen was born November 25, 1938 in Anson County, NC a daughter of the late Roy Lindsey Huneycutt and Allie Mae Pegram Huneycutt. She had worked at Acme Name Plate and Cooper Tools both in Monroe and later for Collins and Aikman in Norwood. She was a dedicated member of Running Creek Primitive Baptist Church in Locust. Surviving are her children, Sherry (Chip) Dula of Matthews and Bryan (Laura Davis) Helms of New Salem; her grandchildren, Jessica Dula and Ryan Dula both of Matthews and Hailey Helms of New Salem; and her brothers and sisters, Sam Honeycutt of Atlanta, GA, Beatrice Mason of Norwood, Ben (Minh) Huneycutt of Charlotte, George (Lib) Honeycutt of Longs, SC and Leonard Huneycutt of Polkton; and her sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Jeanette Huneycutt of Wadesboro and Jimmy Ray Hyatt of Ansonville. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William George Helms, son, William George Helms, Jr, and sisters and brothers, Ola Mae Tarlton, Gladys Vaughn, Tom Huneycutt, Jim Huneycutt and Arelene Hyatt. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Running Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 24671 Millingport Rd., Locust, NC 28097. The arrangements are in care of Leavitt Funeral Home.
