WADESBORO - Mrs. Mary Curtis Parrish, 76, went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, January 11, 2014 at Lillie Bennett Nursing Center.
Funeral services will be 2:00pm Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at Bethany Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Johnny Johnson and Rev. Frank McQuage officiating. Interment will follow in Anson Memorial Park.
The family will greet friends from 6:00pm unti l8:00pm Monday, January 13, 2014 at Leavitt Funeral Home and other times at the home.
Mary was born in Chesterfield County, SC June 11, 1937 a daughter of the late Rufus Elijah and Beulah Davis Curtis. When Mary was two years old her mother died and she was then reared by Dorothy Gainey Curtis.
She worked at life's most famed position, as a wife, mother, homemaker and pastor's wife. She was very supportive of her husband's ministry which spanned more than 50 years. She was a member of Bethany Free Will Baptist Church.
Surviving are her husband of 55 years, Dr. Thomas M. Parrish of the home; her sons, Rev. Tony (Kay) Parrish of Pinetown, NC and Rev. David Parrish of Kannapolis, NC; 3 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Bill Parrish.
